Nelly Otenyo Ibis is originally from Kenya. She has been living in Maastricht, the Netherlands for the last 10 years with her husband and children. Her story is about her journey being new at finding balance and practising selfcare. As a perfectionist juggling parenting, being a wife, having a regular job, and running 2 businesses her life was turned upside down after the loss of her 2nd daughter. She found out that one could feel sick mentally, not just physically after such a tragedy and need time to heal. Her husband has been her advisor about finding balance, delegating in her businesses and learning to say no nicely to the multitude of people who ask for her help. She is working on her fear of failure and honing her communication skills not having grown up around adults who could disagree without arguing. She had to detach herself from what she was taught at home and at school about being successful to find her new focus. She has a very interesting story to tell and much wisdom to share. Watch her video and be ready to be impressed by Nelly Otenyo’s charisma, honesty and work ethic.

If things are not working out like you had expected, just wait for a while. This is not the right time.

Lucy Lu was born in Gongcheng, a small town in Southern China. Her life was saved twice by heart surgery, the first time as a baby then as a young adult. She is no stranger to hospital stays. After the death of her mother when she was 12 years old, she quickly learnt to become independent and responsible for her own life. Her father taught her this by giving her enough freedom to grow. Her years of boarding school were happy ones but had to end prematurely due to a lack of funds. She eventually moved to an exciting and modern city, Shenzhen, with a friend of hers with very little money in her pocket. It was not easy but she was very resourceful and did well in the hotel industry. She is now a happy mother of two, in a relationship with a Dutch man whom she met while she was an au-pair in the Netherlands. At age 35, she runs Sunshine au-pair agency and recently bought her first house in The Hague. Listen to her story about hardship, kindness, taking decisions, hard work and giving back.
